Peter Hudson
The most senior member of the “Huddo“ family is Peter AKA: “the Grey Ghost”.
Peter started surfing at the age of 9 and has never stopped. That’s more than half a century of riding waves so you could say it is in his blood. Peter began surf coaching in 1981 and currently holds a Level 2 accreditation. He’s also a founding member of the Port Macquarie / Hastings Disabled Surfing Association.
Since his first surfing competition way back in the 70’s, Peter has travelled extensively around Australia to win numerous “short” and “long board” titles. From 1989 with his first NSW Open Longboard win, right through to 2008 when he was crowned Over 55’s NSW Longboard champion, Peter has dominated the NSW competition scene with titles and championships too numerous to mention.
Peter is also a five time Australian Champion.
1988 Australian Open longboard Champion
1988 Australian Over 35’s shortboard Champion
1997 Australian Over 45’s longboard Champion
1998 Australian Over 45’s shortboard Champion
2002 Australian Over 50’s shortboard Champion
Peter’s vast experience and boundless energy also sees him compile daily surf and weather reports for www.coastalwatch.com and he can be heard daily on local radio station 2MC FM with his comprehensive surf reports.
